VILLAS- Lower Township Council rejected all bids Dec. 3 submitted to renovate the interior of the Millman Center when all came in over budget.
Township Manager Michael Voll said township officials would take a second look at proposed renovations to the building. He said council wants to bring the Millman Center to current standards including a fire suppression system.
Voll said plans call for giving the interior a “facelift.”
“We cleaned up the outside last year and this year we plan to renovate the inside,” he said.
Voll said there were no plans to charge local residents to use the Millman Center for community events. He said there has been discussion of possibly renting the building, when there was open time on weekends, for weddings or showers to return money to taxpayers.
The scale of renovation plans may have to be reduced to stay within budget, said Voll.
