Avalon Names Alexis Coan Borough Tax Collector

AVALON — The Avalon Borough Council confirmed the appointment of Alexis Coan as the new Municipal Tax Collector for the Borough. The appointment was made by Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi. Coan will replace longtime Avalon Tax Collector Connie DiCola upon her retirement on Sept. 1, 2016.
“Ally has been an exemplary employee for the Borough of Avalon in both the Department of Recreation and in the Tax Collector’s Office,” Pagliughi said. “We thank Connie for her service to our community and look forward to Ally maintaining the high level of customer service provided in the Tax Collector’s office.”
Coan has been employed by the Borough of Avalon since June, 2001 when she began her career assisting in the Department of Recreation. She was added to the Tax Office to handle staffing issues before she achieved a regular assignment in the Office on Jan. 14, 2013. On Aug. 25, Coan is scheduled to graduate from Immaculata University with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Dynamics with a focus on accounting, financial management issues, managerial economics, strategic planning, statistics, and organizational ethics.
Coan received her certification from the State of New Jersey as a Tax Collector on Oct. 7, 2014. Her four-year term as the Municipal Tax Collector for Avalon will commence on Jan. 1, 2017.
