AVALON – “We are working on a comprehensive amendment that will impact several chapters of the code.” Business Administrator Scott Wahl briefed Avalon Borough Council Aug. 22 on the administration’s efforts to respond to widespread complaints about what many have called “out of control” construction during the 2018 summer.
A number of homeowners have complained to council about excessive noise, dust and particle pollution, trailers and dumpster placements and numerous existing code violations by construction crews.
Projections call for ordinance changes to be introduced in October to deal with issues of allowable work hours, summer holiday schedules, parking controls, mandatory use of bags for collecting sawdust and plastic particulates, and potential use of stop-work orders for repeat code violators.
