AVALON –– Borough Hall will remain closed though July as work to install a new HVAC system on the roof will continue into late July.
Borough Hall was slated to reopen on June 20 but work on the new air conditioning and heating units being installed will take about four more weeks.
In the mean time, functions of borough government are relocated to trailers behind Borough Hall, Community Hall and the Public Works Building on 13th Street and Dune Drive.
This construction is part of a new Public Safety Complex being built between 30th and 31st Streets on Dune Drive. Work on the building began last year, and the first phase of the construction project will be finished by the end of this year.
The project will be completely finished in spring 2009. The new Public Safety Complex will house the Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Management, Rescue Squad, Beach Tag, and Communications functions for the borough.
