CREST HAVEN – As the year nears its end, freeholders, at their Dec. 12 meeting, appointed or reappointed a number of volunteers to various advisory and other boards.
To the county, Open Space Review Board, Cornelius R. Byrne Jr., and David Craig were both reappointed to terms that will end June 1, 2019. Sandra Lindley was appointed to the board with a term that will expire June 1, 2018.
In other action the board:
* Appointed Cass Leary and Cheryl O’Hara to the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.) Community Advisory Council with terms to expire Dec. 31, 2020.
* Appointed members to the county Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council for 2018 with terms ending Dec. 31, 2018: Regular members: Marion Ingram, Ingrid Hickman, Suzanne Pelkaus, Sue Kelly, Tom Ownings, Burgess Hamer, Kerri Sherman, Larry Jones, Betty Canderan, Rita Powers, Sabrina Hand, Marie Giansante, Lee Shupert, Rita Voli and Barry Keefe. Ex-officio member: Freeholder Jeffrey Pierson.
* Appointed and reappointed members to the Local Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee with terms from one to three years. One-year (Dec. 31, 2018): John Birkmeyer, Frank DeAugustine, Krista Fitzsimmons, Vernon Kline, Lenora Savich.
Two-year (Dec. 31, 2019): Raymond DiMarino, Cathy Ierovante, Sharon Mellor, Geraldine Norton, Joyce Vera Thompson.
Three-year term (Dec. 31, 2020): MaryAnn Matthews-Mason, Frank Roach, Richard Sambenedetto, Sandra Tripoli, Jean Marie Mellor.
* Designated Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton and Vice Director and Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio as annual members to the Policy Board of the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization.
* Awarded an open-end contract to Spiezle Architectural Group for consulting work on the exterior masonry restoration project at the Special Services School.
* Awarded contract to Peterson Service Co., Inc. of Medford for HVAC maintenance, service, and repair at county buildings.
* Regarding the upgrade of radio service to 700 Mhz for county communications, authorized Let’s Think Wireless of Livingston, to relocate the microwave gear at Stone Harbor municipal building and the County Airport for $29,398.
* Contracted with Cape Counseling for one year starting Jan. 1, 2018 for substance abuse recovery case manager, specialist for $40,369 annually.
* Approved change order for $42,588 to South State Inc. of Bridgeton for roadway and infrastructure upgrades at the County Airport.
* Awarded contract for $791,844 to South State Inc. for Phase 3 reconstruction of Bayshore Road (CR 603) from Wilde Avenue to Weber Avenue in Lower Township.
