AVALON – Avalon residents and visitors will have easier access to information concerning changes in recycling rules, trash pickup schedules, and a host of other concerns related to the disposal of materials. An app, customized to Avalon’s disposal services and schedules, is available for download to Apple and Android devices. The app interacts with Amazon’s Alexa product.
Through an arrangement with the county Municipal Utilities Authority, the Recycle Coach app is free. The app contains all solid waste disposal schedules, easy access to what is and what is not to be included in recycling, along with information on bulk pickup, brush removal, and technology disposal. Changes to schedules or regulation will be updated in the app which can be configured to give users alerts of pickup days or periodic events like borough-wide shredding.
