DENNISVILLE – Dennis Township Committee approved the adoption of an ordinance Sept. 24, which modifies existing regulation to permit the consumption of alcohol in a municipal park or recreation area for a special event that committee has pre-approved, and that also has the approval of the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Mayor Zeth Matalucci noted, “The change of the ordinance for the recreation center is necessary as township committee has planned the first craft beer, food truck, and music event that is slated for Oct.19 (Ale O’ Ween). We haven’t advertised it yet or made it public, as we’re still waiting on the state to approve our permit.
“Prior to this ordinance revamp, no alcoholic beverages were permitted, and this will now be altered so township committee has the ability to approve these types of events. We have partnered with a non-profit ‘friend in need’ and will be splitting the proceeds between them and our recreation sports organizations.”
