SCHELLENGER’S LANDING – Engineering Design Associates Project Engineer Joseph Maffei presented Lower Township Council with a concept Aug. 20 to make improvements to the Schellenger’s Landing area. The section includes the heavily-traveled bridge into Cape May.
An artist’s rendering of the bridge area shows that the work would provide 5-feet-wide “paver” sidewalks and “bump-outs” plus crosswalks in the area, including the bridge, to alleviate the risk to bikers and pedestrians in the highly-congested area. The project would be funded with a Department of Transportation grant if the application is successful. The estimated cost is $355,000.
