7 Open Space Projects Approved

CREST HAVEN – Freeholders approved seven Open Space projects by individual resolution Sept. 10, totaling almost $1.7 million.
Three are Park and Recreation projects, and four are Historic Preservation projects.
Projects were previously presented to the board July 23 by Planning Director Leslie Gimeno.
Projects are funded through the county’s Open Space program. Gimeno previously said that Historic Preservation projects have cash-match requirements.
Projects are:
Park and Recreation Projects
* Hudson Avenue Pocket Park Recreation Improvements, Wildwood, $170,211
* Demolition of Structures along Route 9, Court House, $150,000  
* Woodbine/Cape May County Eco-Park Phase II, III, $1.2 million
Historic Preservation Projects
* Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities, Cape May, for exterior restoration of Physick House Museum, $24,538
* Historic Cold Spring Village for preservation of Spicer Leaming House, $76,800
* Naval Air Station Wildwood for Hangar 1 roof rehabilitation, telescopic doors and 16 Payne light restoration, 33,030
* Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities for restoration of Cape May lighthouse staircase, $43,635
