$3.9-M Bond OK’d for Project

By Jim McCarty

VILLAS – Lower Township Council approved a $3.9-million bond Aug. 20 to fund Phase III of the Roseann Avenue flood mitigation project. It will extend the work by 1,000 feet to Bayshore Avenue. The bond also funds a stormwater filtering system that is needed since the runoff that this project manages cannot be diverted directly into Cox Hall Creek. That is because testing of that runoff water revealed a higher than acceptable mineral content. A filter system will treat and clean the water before it can be diverted to the creek that leads to Delaware Bay.
