33rd Special Law Enforcement Officer Class Two Graduation

COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Vice-Director Ralph E. Sheets, Jr. announced that 57 officers from the 33rd Basic Course for Special Law Enforcement Officers will graduate on June 28 at 4 p.m. from Middle Township Performing Arts Center, 1 Penkethman Way.

The officers began training on May 3, and trained for six days per week, 11 hours each day. The officers will supplement local police departments in Cape May County during the summer season.
Additionally, each student graduating is entitled to receive 16 college credits from Atlantic Cape Community College.
The class started with a physical fitness average of 81.12 percent and finished with a physical fitness average of 91.8 percent.
The officers lost 343 pounds during training and their body fat percentage dropped from 17.28 to 12.66 percent.
Also, they lost a total of 136 inches from their waist.
The class president is Michael Stahl of Wildwood Police Department, elected by members of the class.
Individual Awards are as follows:
High Academic Award: Officer Kyle MacDonald, North Wildwood 94.71 percent
Vehicle Operations Award: Officer Charles Chicoris, Wildwood 26.51 seconds
Physical Fitness Award: Officer Thomas Macauley, Wildwood 98.1 percent
Firearms Award: Officer Calin Calabrese, Stone Harbor 99.4 percent
Directors Award: Officer John Dever, Sea Isle City
