The County of Cape May was a partner of the U.S. Census Bureau throughout the 2010 Census, aiding in getting the message out to our local citizens about the importance of “Being Counted in Cape May County.”
The County established a “Complete Count Committee,” chaired by Freeholder Vice-Director Leonard Desiderio.
This grassroots group was comprised of members of local government, social, business, and religious organizations, who dis-seminated information to their respective memberships and the general public on the Census and how its data is used to allocate government resources.
Results of the 2010 Census are being released throughout the spring of 2011. The County Planning Department will continue its involvement by analyzing the information, identifying trends and making the information available to the public.
