By Kirby Reed

COURT HOUSE – Former Lower Township Council Member Glenn Douglass filed a direct nominating petition for the November 5 General Election at the County Clerk’s Office on September 11.
Douglass was forced to resign his Ward 3 council position on August 30 when it was discovered he could not retire from his state position and collect a pension while holding an elected office.
Running as an Independent, Douglass’ slogan is “Independent People’s Choice.” He will face off against Republican Party nomination, Erik Simonsen.
The Democratic Party has until September 12 at 4:00 p.m. to submit a nomination.
Candidate names will be posted on the website, www.capemaycountyvotes.com, after 4:00 p.m. on September 12.
