OCEAN CITY – Christine Lentz, former vice principal and athletic director at Ocean City High School, has filed a notice that she intends to sue the Ocean City School District, according to Shore News Today.
Paperwork filed with the district indicates that Lentz, 53, of Woodbine expects damages to top $2 million.
Lentz alleges she faced discrimination and wrongful termination, and states that school superintendent Kathleen Taylor objected to Lentz’ sexual orientation.
Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced in an Aug. 5 release that Lentz had been charged with second degree official misconduct, and third degree computer criminal activity.
According to the release, a month-long investigation led by Detective Bryan Hamilton of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit revealed that Lentz, while employed by Ocean City High School as a vice principal and athletic director, allegedly accessed the Ocean City School District email of Superintendent Kathleen Taylor. Lentz was alleged to have done this between April 1 and June 1, without prior authorization.
Lentz turned herself into the Prosecutor’s Office Aug. 4 where she was processed and released on a summons.
