VILLAS — Villas Fire Company broke ground July 11 for an addition to their fire hall that will add a second floor to the building.
Lt. Bill Howard said the second floor would feature an “A” shaped roof. He said the remodeling would be done in two phases with the interior second floor being completed as funds become available.
The second floor will have offices, a meeting room and small recreation area, he said.
The first floor will house a locker room, new restrooms, small office and a radio room.
The current building was constructed in 1961 with a bingo hall added in 1965.
Howard said the addition should be completed in six months to one year.
Breaking ground with ceremonial shovels were Clarence Howard, who has been a member of Villas Fire Company for 64 years, Jeffrey H. Gott, senior vice president of Crest Savings Bank, which is financing the addition and Lower Township Mayor Walter Craig.
Lower Township – Who are these people that are obvious experts on trash cans and leaf pick-up? Maybe they don't have any trash to put out or leaves in their yard!!
