UPDATE: Wildwood Fire Department Releases Information on Kitchen Fire

WILDWOOD – City firefighters responded to 134 West Bennett Avenue for a reported stove fire Dec. 28 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
On the arrival of Engine Company 38-A, firefighters discovered the fire extended to the dwelling and requested a full-first alarm assignment. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, containing fire damage to the kitchen area of the home. The building itself suffered smoke damage through-out. The dwelling was unoccupied at the time of the fire, although the owners were present in the front house. No injuries were reported.
Companies operating on scene were Engine 38, Rescue 3, Tower 51 and North Wildwood Engine 2.
The fire is being investigated by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office, Wildwood Police Department and Wildwood Fire Department.

The kitchen fire caused heavy damage to the residence. No injuries have been reported.
Wildwood and North Wildwood Fire Departments responded. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal.
