UPDATE: Firefighters Battle Fire at Residence in North Wildwood

NORTH WILDWOOD- Firefighters responded to calls of a house fire located at 104 East 5th Avenue in North Wildwood on Thursday at around 12:16 p.m. The two alarm fire took about 20 minutes to put out. Firefighters remained at the scene until 3 p.m. to investigate the cause of the fire. Fire officials say it has been ruled accidental.
There was one occupant in the home at the time of the fire but she managed to escape on her own, without injury.
There was severe damage to the residence, as well as heat damage to the surrounding properties.
The North Wildwood, Wildwood, West Wildwood, Stone Harbor Fire Departments, and the Rio Grande Rapid Intervention Team responded.

Fire reported at a residence in North Wildwood behind the 5th Street Deli on 5th and NJ Avenue. New Jersey and New York Avenues, and 5th street are partially closed. Use caution. Check back for updates.
