OCEAN VIEW – Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company reported via its Facebook page and the attached photos a Nov. 4 fire at 5:47 a.m.
Ocean View Fire Company was dispatched to Lake and Shore Campground for a reported trailer fire. Dennis Fire Company was dispatched as automatic aid.
Ocean View’s chief requested additional aid that brought Avalon Fire Department for a RIT (rapid intervention team) assignment in addition to Seaville Fire and Rescue for a tanker with manpower.
Engine 17, Squad 17, Rescue 17, Utility 17 and Car 17 responded and were able to quickly extinguish the fire, which was contained to one trailer.
Mutual aid companies were released from staging. A total of 16 Ocean View firefighters responded to the blaze.
The fire was under investigation.

At approximately 5:45 a.m Nov. 4, Station 18 units were dispatched as automatic aid to Ocean View Volunteer Fire Co.’s district for the report of a trailer fire at Lake and Shore Campground on Corson’s Tavern Road in Ocean View.
Ocean View’s chief reported a fully involved trailer fire and requested aid, that brought Seaville Fire Rescue to the scene and Avalon Volunteer Fire Department for a RIT assignment.
Tanker 18, Engine 18, and Squad 18 responded and provided manpower. Firefighters placed the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Belleplain Emergency Corps, the New Jersey State Police, and the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office responded.
