SEAVILLE– A July 20 fire claimed the life of Christopher Stinson, and critically injured his father, who tried to save him, when their home at 1722 Route 9 was engulfed in flames..
Jerre Stinson was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, Pa. for treatment of smoke inhalation sustained as he tried to save his son, a sophomore at Ocean City High School, from his bedroom where firefighters found his remains.
The structure was fully-involved when firefighters arrived. Those volunteers were from from Marmora, Seaville, Ocean View and Tuckahoe. The dwelling was described as a century-old, multi-story frame structure.
Route 9 was closed to traffic as firefighters fought the blaze. The investigation into the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
