Same House Burns Twice In 12-Hour Period

WOODBINE – Multiple fire companies responded to two structure fires at 709 Clay Street in Woodbine over a 12-hour period, Shore News Today reports.
Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company, Marmora Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Township Division of EMS responded to the scene around 5 p.m. March 26 to assist the Woodbine Fire Department. Fire companies from Dennis, Belleplain, and Ocean View also responded, along with Belleplain Emergency Corps, New Jersey State Police and Atlantic City Electric.
Firefighters attacked the blaze inside and used a ladder truck to ventilate the attic. The fire was brought under control by about 6 p.m. and crews were cleared from the area.
Another fire at the same location was reported around 3 a.m. March 27. The same agencies responded to the scene. The entire building was fully engulfed in flames.
The second fire was under control by 6 a.m. No injuries were reported in either fire. The Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating, the report continued.
