Police Evacuate Rio ShopRite for Possible Electrical Fire

RIO GRANDE– Middle Township police officers requested the fire department to the Rio Grande Shop Rite for a smell of smoke in the produce department around 7:08 p.m.
At 7:14 p.m. police reported they were evacuating the store.
At 7:15 p.m. Rio Grande Fire Department arrived on scene and reported they may have an electrical fire and requested the Green Creek Fire Department to the scene.
At 7:37 p.m. the County Health Department was called as per protocol.
At 9:00 p.m. the Cape May County Fire Marshal was requested to the scene to investigate the fire.
