Officials Investigate Cape May Fire

CAPE MAY – Cape May Fire Department responded to a working structure fire on the 1100 block Delaware Avenue Dec. 23 at 7:18 p.m.   
According to a release, fire companies from Cape May, West Cape May and the Coast Guard Base responded to the location. While en route, dispatch notified responding units of people still in the house. 
Cape May Police arrived on scene and assisted occupants out of the house. Firefighters from Cape May’s on duty crew and Coast Guard Base’s on duty crew arrived and placed two lines in service knocking the fire down and searching the home.
The fire was declared under control at 7:28 p.m. Three occupants of the house were taken to Cape Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
The fire is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal, Cape May police detectives and New Jersey Division of Fire Safety.
