Ocean City Ice Cream Parlor Has Fire in Attic

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Fire Department was dispatched to the Hobby Horse Ice Cream Parlor on the corner of Eighth Street and Ocean Avenue, Sept. 15 at about 11:56 p.m.
According to the department’s Facebook page, this is one of the city’s iconic ice cream shops.
Upon arrival, crews gained access to the building’s interior which had fire showing from the rear section of the roof.
The fire was contained to the attic and was under control at 12:20 a.m. Although the fire was contained to the attic, the commercial space sustained water and smoke damage.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
