No Injuries in Sea Isle City Fire

SEA ISLE CITY – Sea Isle City traffic maintenance employees came upon a working structure fire on the 300 block 56th Street around 1 p.m. May 3, which was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to a post on Sea Isle City Police Department’s Facebook page May 4. Those employees alerted police dispatch of the situation.
Sea Isle City Police Department, Sea Isle City Fire Department and Sea Isle City Ambulance Corps all responded to the scene.
Upon arrival of these initial responders, a request for mutual aid was placed for Strathmere Fire Department and Avalon Fire Department to help place the fire under control. Members of Ocean View Fire Department covered Sea Isle City fire station during the fire. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes.
Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office and detectives from Sea Isle City Police Department continue their investigation into the cause and origin of the fire. Preliminary investigation does not indicate any suspicious activity. The damage was contained to the one property only. There were no injuries to first responders or anyone else during this fire.
According to the post, Sea Isle City Police will release more information when reports are completed and a final cause and origin has been determined.
