NORTH CAPE MAY – Officers with the Lower Township Police Department, along with Town Bank, Erma and Villas Fire Companies, and the Lower Township Rescue Squad, were dispatched to Beachhurst Drive in North Cape May for a reported structure fire Aug. 6 at approximately 2 a.m.
Upon the arrival of police and fire, it was confirmed the two story home was engulfed in flames. It was also confirmed that the residence was unoccupied at the time.
Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately 45 minutes before it was deemed to be under control.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time by Lower Township Police Detectives, Lower Township Fire Inspectors and the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
