Kitchen Fire Quickly Doused

WILDWOOD — Wildwood Fire Department units responded Nov. 19 at 9:18 p.m. to a reported dwelling fire at 3700 New Jersey Ave. Commissioners Court.
According to a Nov. 20 release, Squad 3, under the command of Capt. Matt Johnson, responded. While enroute, dispatch reported a kitchen fire.
Squad 3 and North Wildwood Fire Department’s Quint 2 and Quint 3 extinguished the fire, checking for extension and ventilated the dwelling units.
Deputy Fire Chief Ernie Troiano III assumed command. Fire units operated for about 45 minutes.
The fire was under investigation by the
Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office. The Wildwood City Fire Department determined it to be accidental in origin.
No injuries were reported. Wildwood Police also assisted, according to Fire Chief Daniel Speigel.
