Johnson Named County Fire Marshal

CREST HAVEN — Freeholders on Tue., Jan. 11 appointed Conrad Johnson Jr., of Rio Grande, as Cape May County Fire Marshal for a one-year term. The vote was unanimous.
Johnson will replace long-serving Fire Marshal Albert Beers, who was named a deputy fire marshal. Beers served over 24 years as fire marshal.
Johnson is Wildwood fire chief, and is chief instructor at the Cape May County Fire Academy.
Other deputy fire marshals appointed were: Stephen Schaffer, Lou Ostrander, Rocco DiSilvestro and Richard Harron. They will conduct fire scene investigations and conduct fire training courses,.
Paul Hand, Court House fire chief, was reappointed Regional Coordinator. His duties include coordinating supporting emergency response teams at fire sites.
