Haz-Mat Team Called to Trailer

SCHELLENGERS LANDING – At 10:35 a..m., Nov. 2, police, fire, rescue and a haz-mat crew were on scene at 1228 Route 9 in the rear of an antique store on Schellengers Landing for a trailer leaking an unknown substance into the air.
CBURN (county Hazardous Material Team) responded along with Town Bank, Cape May, USCG Fire Station, West Cape May, Villas and Erma fire companies. A witness said there appeared to be a mix of pesticides and chemicals.
Route 109 was closed in both directions with no access to Cape May.
