NORTH CAPE MAY – At about 12:45 p.m. Fri., April 6, Townbank Volunteer Fire Company and the Forest Fire Service responded to a one-acre brush fire in a wooded area near Apple Blossom and Glade drives.
Lower Township Rescue Squad responded to the fire.
Lower Township police are investigating the cause of the fire.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY HAS ISSUED A FIRE
WEATHER WATCH…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING.
* WINDS…NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY…AROUND 20 PERCENT.
* TIMING…THE PEAK IN THE WINDS AND DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED
TO OCCUR FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY EVENING.
* IMPACTS…THE FIRE DANGER REMAINS ELEVATED DUE TO THE GUSTY
WINDS AND RATHER DRY CONDITIONS. AS A RESULT, THE POTENTIAL
EXISTS FOR RAPID SPREAD IF UNCONTROLLED FIRES DEVELOP OR EVEN
FOR PRESCRIBED BURNS TO GET OUT OF CONTROL.
