Firefighters From Four Companies Battle Villas Fire

VILLAS — Firefighters from four companies were called out to extinguish a blaze on the 200 block of Drumbed Road.
A call went out at approximately 3:15, Mon. March 26 reporting a structure fire. According to unsubstantiated reports, firefighters arriving on scene found flames shooting from the home’s eaves.
Residents of the home were safely evacuated.
The fire was brought under control, however the home sustained heavy damage.
Responding were members of Villas, Erma, Town Bank and Green Creek Volunteer Fire Companies. Also responding was Lower Township EMS as well as Lower Township police. The Cape May County Fire Marshall’s office is conducting an investigation.
