SOUTH DENNIS – Dennis Volunteer Fire Company and Belleplain Emergency Corp. units were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Route 83 in the area of the Hanson/Cape Concrete plant in South Dennis at approximately 9:30 a.m. June 2.
According to a post on Dennis Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page, Rescue Engine 1836 responded to the scene and found a commercial vehicle with heavy fire showing. Command requested a mutual aid response from Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company for additional water supply and manpower. The fire was placed under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Units remained on scene for approximately one hour while they performed overhaul operations following a response and initial investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
