Firefighters Battle Labor Day Blaze

By Press Release

STONE HARBOR – Stone Harbor Fire-Rescue was dispatched to 10704 Golden Gate Road for a structure fire Sept. 7 at 5:14 p.m., according to Stone Harbor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1’s Facebook page.
Ladder 1351, under the command of Firefighter First Class Jake Loefflad, arrived to find the rear deck well-involved, extending into the house. An aggressive attack was initiated and a second alarm was transmitted. Avalon Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Cape May Court House responded. Rio Grande was requested for their air unit and manpower. Upper Rescue responded for rehab. Avalon and Angelsea provided coverage for Station 13.
Due to the small water mains, a 2000-foot, 5-inch hose lay was required.
No injuries were reported.
