Firefighters Battle House Fire in Villas

VILLAS – Firefighters were called to a house fire at 33 East Florida Avenue, Monday Nov. 23 at 7:23 a.m that was fully involved upon their arrival.
Crews found heavy smoke and flames shooting out of the front porch of the wood frame home. There were no occupants in the residence.
The fire was under control by 8 a.m. The fire is under investigation by the county Fire Marshal’s Office.
Two dogs perished in the fire. A third dog was rescued by firefighters and Lower Township Animal Control Officer Don Montgomery.
Villas Volunteer Fire Company was assisted by fire companies from Townbank, Erma, Green Creek and Rio Grande , which covered Fire Station 62.
