Firefighters Battle Blaze in North Cape May

NORTH CAPE MAY – Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 600 block of Townbank Road in North Cape May Jan. 28 around 5:30 a.m.
The residents were home at the time of the fire. Lower Township Rescue Squad transported one individual to Cape Regional Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company responded, along with Erma Volunteer Fire Company and Villas Volunteer Fire Company.
American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter was called at approximately 10:15 a.m. Jan. 28 to assist the displaced family of two male and three female adults, according to a release.
The Cape May County Fire Marshal is investigating the origins of the fire.
