SEA ISLE CITY – At approximately 5:05 a.m. April 21, Sea Isle City police dispatch received a 911 call for a structure fire in the 200 block of 75th Street.
According to a release, patrol officers responded immediately and observed heavy smoke and fire in the rear of 209 75th Street. Patrol officers assisted in evacuating the home and neighboring homes as the fire quickly spread to 213 75th Street.
At approximately 5:22 a.m., Sea Isle City Fire Department arrived on scene and began fighting the fire. With the assistance of multiple fire departments from Strathmere, Ocean View, Seaville and Avalon, the fire was placed under control by 6:11 a.m.
While battling the multiple-structure fire, a firefighter from Sea Isle City Fire Department sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to Cape Regional Medical Center. In total, four residential units were a total loss.
The incident was under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Sea Isle City Police Department.
