Fire Destroys Vacant Villas Dwelling

Bayfront home in Villas burns Nov. 12.

VILLAS – Lower Township police, fire and EMS were dispatched to a residence at 2727 Bay Drive, Villas, Nov. 12, at 11:08 a.m. 
According to a release, upon arrival, Lower Township police officers found the residence engulfed in flames and determined that the residence was vacant.
Neighboring residents were requested to evacuate, due to the quickly spreading fire, in addition to propane or natural gas hazards.
All Lower Township fire departments responded, meaning Erma, Town Bank and Villas.
Additional resources responded from Rio Grande, Green Creek, Cape May, Goshen, Cape May County Fire Coordinators Office, Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Lower Township fire official.
Investigators from the county Fire Marshal’s office investigated the fire’s cause.
No injuries were reported.
