Fire Destroys Shed, Damages Residence

COURT HOUSE – On Sunday, Jan. 11 around 2 a.m. the Middle Township Police Department received numerous 9-1-1 calls of a reported structure fire at 650 Goshen Road.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers and fire personnel found a shed on fire, behind the residence and next to the garage.
The fire burned the shed to the ground and caused damage to the residence and attached garage.
There was also smoke damage to the interior of the residence.
The occupants, Carol Serio and her two daughters, escaped the residence unharmed.
The cause of the fin is under investigation. The Cape May Court House Fire Department, the Cape May County Fire Marshall’s Office, the Court House Rescue Squad and the American Red Cross responded to the scene.
The incident Is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office, Patrolman. Kurt Saettler and Detective Clint Stocker.
