Fire Destroys Mobile Home

Flames consume the mobile home of John Kennedy Oct. 21 at Presidential Trailer Park

By

MAYVILLE – About 6:30 a.m. Oct. 21, Middle Township Police received a call reporting a structure fire in Presidential Trailer Park, 477 Shunpike Road.
When first responders arrived shortly afterward, they found smoke showing and the mobile home that was the home of John Kennedy “fully involved,” according to Fire Chief Paul Hand of Court House Fire Company No. 1. “It was a total loss,” said Hand. There were no injuries, he added.
Cape May County Fire Marshal’s office conducted an investigation into the cause of the fire, which ravaged all Kennedy’s possessions.
Mobile homes on either side of Kennedy’s were saved, Hand said.
Hand said about 40 firefighters joined to battle the blaze. They were from Court House, Rio Grande and Stone Harbor. Two rescue units from Middle Township also responded to the scene.
