Fire Destroys Burleigh Restaurant

BURLEIGH – Fire destroyed a restaurant in Burleigh July 31.
Firefighters were dispatched to The BBQ, located at 1258 Route 9, at about 10:30 p.m. for a reported structure fire.
The building is a total loss, said Chief Paul Hand of Court House Fire Company No. 1.
No injuries were reported. 
Fire departments from Rio Grande, Green Creek, and Stone Harbor also responded, while Goshen was summoned to stand by in Court House. 
Firefighters remained on scene until about 3:30 a.m.
According to Hand, the cause of the fire is “undetermined.” 
Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office told Middle Township Police that where the fire started is undetermined. The fire remains under investigation.
