NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Fire Department responded to a call on the 700 block Ocean Avenue around 8 a.m. Dec. 15.
“The electrical service going to the building ignited the siding,” said Fire Chief Dominick McClain.
Firefighters had to wait for the electric company to arrive before extinguishing the fire. The fire was contained to the exterior of the building, and took about 45 minutes to put out.
The fire “didn’t go through the building,” said McClain. “Stucco saved the interior.”
There was one person home at the time of the fire and firefighters had them come outside. No injuries were reported.
Wildwood City Fire Department also responded.
The cause of the fire was “electrical,” said McClain.
