COLD SPRING – Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company responded to a structure fire on the 800 block of Seashore Road around 4 a.m. April 14.
The fire “appears to have started from some sort of hair device left unattended,” said Lew Megonigal, chief of Town Bank Volunteer Fire Company.
Firefighters arrived to find the second floor rear of the home fully engulfed, and it took two hours to get under control, Megonigal added.
There was no one home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
Fire companies from Town Bank, Villas, Erma, Rio Grande and Cape May responded to the scene, along with a Lower Township fire official and the Cape May County Fire Marshal. Green Creek Fire Company covered the township.
The fire was ruled accidental.
