Boat in Cape May Harbor Burns to Waterline

CAPE MAY — A Cape May City Public Works employee reported seeing a boat on fire Nov. 16 about 8:15 a.m. in Cape May Harbor along Delaware Avenue opposite the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center.
Townbank Fire Department’s Marine One Unit was summoned to the scene.
A Coast Guard civilian employee pointed out to the Herald that there was a gas can on a
nearby beach with a burned nozzle. Cape May City Fire Department was also on
scene.
An investigation will be done to determine the cause of the fire.
No further information was available. No injuries were reported.
