OCEAN VIEW – Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to Minmar Marine, located at 14 Old Sea Isle Boulevard for a reported boat fire Feb. 24 at approximately 11 p.m., according to a post on Ocean View Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page.
On arrival, firefighters found eight boats fully engulfed. Firefighters attacked the fires from opposite sides, and successfully prevented the spread of fire to any of the numerous surrounding boats.
A total of 21 Ocean View firefighters and five apparatus responded to the fire, according to the post. Additional tankers were requested from fire companies in Dennis Township, Seaville, Court House and Belleplain. Sea Isle City Fire Department also responded, and Belleplain Volunteer Fire Company provided coverage during the fire.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
