The contest, sponsored by the county, is an annual event to draw attention to the county’s Earth Day celebration, set for April 17 at the Cape May County Park in Swainton.
This year’s theme was “The Earth Now…The Earth Then.”

Second place went to James Firnhaber, of Cape May County Technical High School.
Third place went to Zack Cripps, of Glenwood Avenue School.
Both first place-winning drawings will appear on the 2010 Earth Day Tote Bag.
Additionally, first place winners received a $75 Savings Bond; second and third place winners received a $50 Savings Bond. All winners received a plaque of recognition and county “goodie” bag.
The Cape May County Earth Day celebration will take place at the County Park and Zoo on April 17 from 9 a.m., when a 5K Earth Day Run will be followed by an Earth Day Fair from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The fair will be fun filled with many earth-friendly activities including a one-mile Earth Walk taking place at 11 a.m.
