Garlic Mustard Pull for Forest Health
April 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Meet on Seagrove Avenue, Cape Island (exact meeting location provided upon registering)
NJ Audubon and The Task Force are seeking volunteers to help remove garlic mustard, an invasive non-native plant, from a maritime forest restoration site within Cape May Point State Park. Maritime forests are important and diminishing habitats that provide wildlife and migratory bird species with food and cover. Garlic mustard and other non-native species have colonized this area, compromising the overall health of the ecosystem, and we need your help to stop it! Join us for a morning of combating invasive species. Dress to get dirty! If you have gloves, hand pruners or loppers please bring them along.
The restoration event will be followed by a luncheon at the home of dedicated local volunteers, to celebrate the first restoration event of the 2015 field season!
Online registration required http://taskforce.bpt.me/
Don’t forget your binoculars for viewing birds and butterflies! If you have any questions or would like more information regarding The Task Force please contact Brittany Dobrzynski at brittany.dobrzynski@njaudubon.org or (609)-861-1608 ext. 31.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
