COLD SPRING- Lower Township police answered a call around noon Thur., March 15 for two canisters found in a creek on the Lower Township Bike Trail from a testing laboratory.
The canisters were about the size of a small paint can and appeared to have been in the creek for a long period of time. They bore the label of a testing laboratory.
County Health Department Director Kevin Thomas told the Herald the canisters were harmless, the type used when a construction company pours concrete for a large structure. He said contractors will pour some of the concrete into PVC which is sent to a testing lab to determine the strength of the concrete.
Thomas said police disposed of the containers.
