STONE HARBOR – Explore the marsh and beach, meet amazing animals and explore interesting habitats plus make new friends and have fun, fun, fun at the Wetlands Institute’s Summer Nature Classes that start in June and run through August.
The summer program is a hands-on way for youngsters of all ages to learn about the natural surroundings of the Jersey Shore with discovery, games, trips and more.
Grades 1 through 6 have classes Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 2 PM with a special theme each week ranging from crabs and turtles, birds and bugs, crabs and sea stars and more.
For Pre-K and kindergarten youngsters, classes are Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to noon; for grades one to six, classes are Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 2 PM. Wednesday the kindergarteners meet at the beach. Older kids meet on the beach Tuesday, and Thursday is field trip day. All classes are offered for the grade level students will complete in June 2011.
Seventh, 8th and 9th graders can explore the coastal environment, met professionals in the field of science and learn a lot by getting muddy in the Junior Naturalist Experience. Five one-week sessions Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 2 PM begin in July.
