VILLAS – Shriners have been collecting pull tabs from beverage cans since 1989, recycling them and putting the money toward programs that directly benefit children. The money the tabs bring helps underwrites the organization’s major philanthropy, its children’s hospitals.
Diehl said the donations go directly to the Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia.
“Every time I see a tab it humbles me,” said Diehl. “A tab, something seemingly insignificant, reminds me of a child in need.”
Diehl thanked the community for their continued support in the pull tab program and noted that tabs will continue to be collected at Lower Township Hall and the Lower Township Municipal Utilities Authority.
