By Al Campbell

COURT HOUSE — Spectacular images of the solar storm of March 6, made public by NASA (National Aeronautic and Space Administration) are what can be seen, but what cannot be seen, a magnetic storm, is expected to affect Earth March 8.
The sun erupted with one of the largest solar flares of this solar cycle on March 6, 2012 at 7 p.m. EST, an X5.4.
Scientists speculate it is possible that event has the ability to disrupt power grids, befuddle GPS devices, and may affect some flights.
On the plus side, it is also possible that the northern lights (aurora borealis) may be visible Thur., March 8.
