Residents, Local Businesses Team Up to Clean the Beach

By Press Release

VILLAS – Lower Township residents are invited to a community beach cleanup April 25.
Cory Hanahan, of Servpro of Cape May County, said that he was motivated to start a beach clean initiative after living and working in the township for a number of years and frequently encountering trash along the bay beaches.
“I wanted to do something to give back,” he told Lower Township Council.
Hanahan along with his employer Servpro of Cape May County and Kathy Louderback, of the Lower Township Chamber of Commerce and Gaiss’ Market, worked together to organize a community cleanup event.
“We have it organized, now we need the people to help,” said Hanahan.
The cleanup check-in begins April 25 at 9:30 a.m. at Pinewood Road and the bay. The cleanup will run from 10 a.m. until about noon as the group moves toward the Douglass Park Pavilion where lunch will be served.
Hanahan said supplies will be provided and Serrvpro will be taking the trash at the end of the day. The event will also feature a scavenger hunt, prizes and a great way to make a difference in the community.
